Below you can find some safety tips

Walking Down the Streets

  • Ask your hotel staff or tour company about safety considerations in the surrounding areas, for example, areas where walking at night is not desirable.
  • Always keep a map of the area handy and plan your route.
  • It is not advisable to walk alone during the night. Stay on well-lit streets.
  • Only use duly authorized taxis.

Keeping your Belongings Safe

  • Make sure your personal belongings are always with you. Never leave them alone or in charge of strangers.
  • Try not to show your money. It is better that both your credit card and your cash are kept in your pocket or purse.
  • If you are visiting natural sites, be aware that your electrical appliances can be damaged by water and make sure to properly store them in waterproof cases.

Walking in wooded areas or near rivers

  • Always stay within the trails or designated areas for tourists.
  • Use safety equipment recommended by tourist companies.
  • Do not approach the edges of rivers without recommended safety equipment.
  • Swim only in pools or rivers recommended by tourist companies. In Valverde Vega some of rivers have strong and unpredictable currents.
  • The animals living in Valverde Vega forests are wonderful to contemplate, but it is important to remember that these are wild animals and therefore it is advisable not to interact with them, not try to touch them, feed them or scare them.
